Bio Atlantic Giant Squid
Atlantic Giant Squid
By Ray McGaughey
The Atlantic Giant Squid is found in many deep ocean areas within the Atlantic Ocean, specifically in the Pelagic zone area of the waters near Newfoundland, Norway.
This Giant Squid is a predator and it eats most deep-sea fishes as well as other squid species.
1 adaptation that helps the giant squid is its strong feeding tentacles that grip its victims. They are sharp and have saw-like edges that latch on and bring in the prey and shred the prey before engulfing it. This lets it eat food easier.
Another adaptation is its huge size (it can grow up to 60 ft.) which enables it to not only overpower its prey but its competitor predators such as the Sperm Whale.
